These elusive giants live in the harshest of environments, high up in the mountain forests. Growing up to 1,500 pounds, they’re surprisingly avid swimmers, often treading water for extended periods of time to cool off during the summer. They emit an array of sounds, from bellows to croaks and moans. If you happen to see one and it snorts—watch out, because It's likely agitated with how close you are. It’s a great day indeed when you spot one, but be certain to respect their boundaries. Moose are truly unique and beautiful wild animals.
