Also known as Wapiti to Native Americans, Elk can grow up to 1,000 lbs and
9 ft tall including their antlers. In the late summer, you can hear their bugling
throughout the mountains as they prepare to mate before winter. Once winter arrives you'll often find them in large herds at lower elevations pawing for grass below the snow. They are beautiful reminders of just how wild the lands around us remain.
